The initial rough draft went into 389 pages (not including index, cross-references, references, table of contents, celebrity endorsements, lengthy meandering sentances, and introduction by Richard Stallman) and was to serve as the beginning of a 10-book series on the subject, but eventually I realized that I was actually an engineer and I had no need to impress professors with lengthy academic treatises.
