Today is the first day I'll be implementing something interesting I've developed over the last few days: Collapsable day views for IE4+. A few days to refine this, and bring the rest of this site up to speed, and I'll announce it on Manila-Newbies... in the meantime, consider yourself lucky to have stumbled upon it, 'cause AFAIK nobody's seen this site. Graphics are in, as is auto-contraction of news items.
An interesting case in the political arena:
Bush Parody Site Fights Back. "'You don't want somebody sitting at home creating a Web page to have to file a piece of paper with the Federal Election Commission,' he [Donald J. Simon, a Washington-based lawyer and specialist in FEC regulations] said, 'because that will have a chilling effect on political activity.' Uh, like, duh. There do seem to be points for both sides, though.
We also start this off with CallTheShots.com as our first one, because it's such an easy target, I don't even need to develop the other concepts I will need to take shots at other Boundary Breakers.
New section: Boundary Breakers. This section will grow into a collection of software products and companies that are challenging our concepting of rights on the Internet.
We start off with a page about how to protect yourself against CallTheShots.com. Fairly easy.
New section: "Protect Yourself!". This section will collect the ways you can protect yourself into one easy reference list. You don't have to just take it!
OK, some news. This AskTog has some comments (after a screen or two of text) that I find myself largely agreeing with. "Computer technology, while helping the corporations strengthen their stranglehold on intellectual property, have also been a fresh breeze of liberation."
Collapsable day view for IE4, anybody? I think I can do it, even within the constraints of Manila... (update) I'm close, but I've still a bit of work...
Actually, no news, but for development reasons, I need two days of news.
This site started 1-10-2000. I'll be playing around a bit before getting going, so if things look wierd, don't be surprised.
